How To Change Your NSFAS Mastercard PIN – Edumainportal

How To Change Your NSFAS Mastercard PIN: Students funded by the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (Nsfas) are required to set up their Nsfas Mastercard in order to receive their allowances. In the event that students want to change their mastercard pin, there are steps that can be followed in order to achieve this.

The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (Nsfas) uses a Mastercard as a new solution in disbursing student allowances. With the Nsfas Mastercard, students can purchase data & airtime, electricity, e-Wallet, and withdraw cash without fees at participating merchants.

In a statement, one of these merchants, Tenet Technology, said students have the option to either tap or use a pin for transactions. Tenet has advised students not to share any personal information when using their card, and to also keep the card in sight.

If you already have a pin, but feel that it has been compromised, follow these steps to change it:

Step 1: Dial 011 207 1600 and follow the voice instructions.

Step 2: Select Option 2 then enter the 16-digit number located on the front of your card.

Step 3: Select Option 1 to enter your ID or passport number when prompted.

Step 4: Enter your new 4-digit PIN when prompted.

Step 5: Re-enter your new PIN to confirm.

Students have also been urged to double-check their receipts to make sure they are accurate after making purchases and to also verify their bank statements to make sure the charges on their accounts are accurate.

According to Nsfas, students should keep in mind that not all students are not going to receive the card at the same time and will need to wait for an SMS notifying them of receiving their allowances.
