Post UTME Update: As Post UTME and the admission selection of various schools for the 2023/2024 academic session begins, we thought we should share with candidates some tips regarding Post UTME as candidates who wrote and were successful in your JAMB UTME preparation for the next stage with is the Post UTME.
What is a UTME Post?
Post-UTME is short for Post Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination. In other words, it is post JAMB or the exam written by JAMB applicants right after UTME before admission. Post UTMEs are only recognized admission screening exams that are conducted by higher institutions in Nigeria for students applying for admission to higher education in various institutions in Nigeria.
Each university organizes and conducts its own Post UTME, but for a candidate to participate in this exam, the candidate must have applied to the university, and have written the JAMB exam with a minimum score of 160 or higher.
NOTE: Candidate who does not participate in Post UTME 2023/2024, will be denied admission regardless of how high the candidate has scored on the JAMB exam.
WHO DOES A POST UTME?
The directors of any higher institution are themselves to take the Post UTME which for most schools normally comes in two phases. The institution must have its own plan for Post UTME registration. Taking the exam, posting the results, admission, and many other essentials are required for the smooth completion of Post UTME at the University.
What is the amount for Post UTME Form?
The prize levy for candidates to use in registering for Post UTME varies from one institution to another. The board of institution is the one in a position to deliberate on the price of the post Utme form and then bring it to the notice of the general public.
There have been outcries in the past from students who felt that most institutions are milking them dry just by applying for Post UTME. At some point, Post UTME had to be scraped to deal with some of these issues.
Currently, most institutions charge students anywhere from 1000 to 5000 Naira for exam registration, though there are few institutions that charge above that range for their admission forms.

Just like the Post UTME cost, there is no single way to register for Post UTME. Each University plans their own registration process.
